Our Story

We could create a reason to celebrate every day of the week if you let us!

We don't believe there's anything more fulfilling than spending time laughing with friends while enjoying delicious food and unlimited wine. Wine is a food group, right?!

Shantelle Dockett

The recurring theme in my life both professionally and personally has been my passion to empower and be in service to Black women and girls. I have more than a decade of experience in marketing and partnerships from working in television and non-profit industries. When I'm not in the marketing world, I am running my non-profit organization dedicated to mentoring from middle through college aged young ladies. I'm an occasional tutu wearer that was raised in Maryland, former Miss Bowie State University (BSUuuu), wife to Jarrod, momma to Alec, and I'm unwavering in my commitment to giving back to my community.

I've searched high and low and couldn't find a wine club that would give me the option to try different Black-owned wines. I'm so excited to go on this journey with you as we explore and support this amazing community.

Krystle Champagne-Norwood

My passion is telling rich stories that amplify marginalized voices, that resonate across cultures, and integrating new technologies to meet the moment. I am an accomplished television producer with over a decade of experience working in digital media, cable and broadcast industries. I grew up in Atlanta, GA (hey, Black Mecca!), graduated from Howard University in 2008 (H-Uuuu; You Know!), wife to Richard, "ma-ma" to Jude, and supporting and centering Black voices has always been the goal.

I'm excited for you all to enjoy these delicious Black-owned wines, and I can't wait to hear about the adventures and milestones you'll celebrate over the curated bottles from Wasted Wives.
